Get better pricing: quotes, RFPs, and group buying
Three ways to beat list price: quote requests, structured multi-bid RFPs, and pooled group-buying campaigns.
Three paths to better pricing
List price is a starting point. Cubbie gives buyers three escalating tools: quote requests for a single purchase, structured RFPs for formal evaluations, and group buying for pooled discounts.
Request a quote
From RFPs in your dashboard, describe what you need — the product (or a standalone need), seat count, requirements, budget, and timeline. Cubbie routes the request to the relevant vendor, the Cubbie team, or both.
1. Submit the request with as much specificity as you can.
2. Responders send quotes that you compare side by side.
3. Accept the winner. The accepted quote becomes a private offer reserved for your org, and you complete the purchase through the normal checkout — budget rules and approvals still apply.
Run a multi-bid RFP
For formal evaluations, the same page hosts the full RFP engine: templated bids so vendors answer the same questions, structured scoring, evaluator workflows for your stakeholders, and a complete audit log of the process. Use it when the decision needs to survive procurement review.
Group buying
Group buying pools demand across Cubbie buyers for pre-negotiated bulk pricing on tools your peers are already buying.
- Each campaign shows a buyer threshold and an end date
- Commit your interest to join; progress updates as buyers commit (for example, 14 of 20 buyers)
- If the threshold is reached before the end date, the discount unlocks for everyone who committed
Committing signals interest — you still complete any purchase through the normal checkout, with your budget rules and approvals intact.
Which tool when
- One purchase, known product: quote request
- Formal evaluation across vendors: multi-bid RFP
- Common tool, no urgency: check group buying first — someone may already be pooling demand for it
