Marketplace Editor

Full-timeSan FranciscoTwo-year tour

Final say on what gets published, promoted and removed.

Cubbie publishes 24,819 software products, and a buyer judges the whole marketplace by whichever one they land on first. You own that judgement. What gets listed, what gets kept out, which category a product actually belongs in, which twelve products deserve a collection, and which pages are ready to send a buyer to. You will have tooling that moves at catalog scale and full authority over the standard it has to meet. If you have ever looked at a software directory and known instantly which entries were written by someone who had used the product, this is that instinct applied to a marketplace with tens of thousands of pages and a real reader on the other end.

The tour

This role runs as a two-year tour. That is the term on both sides. Near the end of it we sit down together and decide whether to run another one.

You will know in your first week what the tour is for: what you own, what has to be true by the end of it, and how that is measured.

By day ninety

A written standard for what a product page has to contain before it can be published, applied retroactively so nothing below the bar is reachable. Every published page carrying the images and the detail that standard asks for. The top two hundred categories checked by hand and corrected. A weekly rhythm of collections, comparisons and a hotlist that gives a returning buyer something new to read, running to a schedule you publish.

Apply

One page. Five questions, a short block on how you work, and a link to something you built or grew. There is no resume to attach and nothing to upload.

A page, a repository, a product, a post, an account.

Hyper-compatible fit

How you would actually work. Short answers are fine.

How much of your working week would Cubbie have?
How far would you move for this?
This role runs as a two-year tour. Where do you land on that?
