Drone is a self-service continuous integration and delivery platform built on container technology. Every pipeline step runs in an isolated Docker container, ensuring consistent and reproducible builds.

Configuration is a simple YAML file committed to the repository. Drone supports multi-platform builds, multi-pipeline definitions, and a rich plugin ecosystem with reusable container-based plugins.

The platform scales efficiently with its runner architecture supporting Docker, Kubernetes, exec, and SSH runners. It supports both cloud and on-premises deployment models.

Now part of Harness, Drone continues as an open-source project while Harness CI extends its capabilities with hosted builds, test intelligence, and enterprise features.
