SaaS Procurement

The end-to-end process of evaluating, buying, deploying, and managing third-party software at a company.

SaaS procurement covers needs analysis, vendor evaluation, security review, contract negotiation, deployment, and renewal. At small companies it''s usually owned by finance or operations. At companies above 100 employees it tends to consolidate into a procurement or vendor-management function. The category exists because SaaS now represents a top-three operating expense at most knowledge-work companies, ahead of office space.
